Payroll Clerk

We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Clerk in the hospitality industry, located in ANN ARBOR, Michigan. This role is a hybrid, necessitating the ability to work onsite at least 3 days a week. As a Payroll Clerk, you will be a part of a team, managing all in-house payroll activities.

• Assisting in running payroll operations effectively
• Being part of a team that handles payroll in-house
• Utilizing spreadsheet software for various tasks and displaying proficiency in understanding Pivot Tables
• Handling payroll for a large number of employees
• Maintaining excellent knowledge of withholdings and taxes
• Gaining experience in multi-state payroll processing, although not mandatory
• Bringing at least 2 years of payroll experience to the role. • Proven experience in payroll processing for over 500 employees
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of complex formulas and pivot tables
• Understanding of payroll tax laws and regulations
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with staff and management about payroll matters
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Knowledge of payroll software systems
• Familiarity with the hospitality industry would be advantageous.
