Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer. This position involves managing and organizing data, while also ensuring its quality and accuracy. The Data Engineer will work with a team of data scientists and software engineers to develop strategic data-driven solutions that drive performance and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

1. Must be based in the Chicagoland area.
2. Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
3. Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
4. Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
5. Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies.
6. Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
7. Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
8. Must be based in the Chicagoland area.
9. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
10. Proven experience as a Data Engineer, or relevant role.
11. Advanced knowledge of SQL including complex queries (e.g., using various joins and sub-queries).
12. Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB is a plus.
13. Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms.
14. Knowledge of programming languages (Java, Python etc.).
15. Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
