Training Instructor- FL

Overview:

The Training Instructor for FL will have responsibilities to complete live training that is specific to FL as well as instruct and facilitate CBC wide training for all agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct training programs as directed by CBC standards that are consistent with industry and agency requirements.
  • Conduct monthly Professional Crisis Management training in various areas that are needed across Florida
  • Conduct both CPR/First Aid Blended Learning and Live classes as directed
  • Facilitate CBC Orientation for IDD on a monthly basis and as directed
  • Document training participation and completion for new and existing staff participants
  • Provide evaluative feedback to hiring manager / supervisor on new staff engagement and participation in training
  • Travel as needed to locations for needed training
  • Implement any annual training as directed by the Director of Staff Development and Training to meet state and federal requirements
  • Assist the Training Coordinator to secure locations to complete training
  • Perform various responsible clerical, technical, administrative, and office support duties supporting the training function.
  • Attend meetings as directed with the Training Department
  • Work with the QM Training Specialist to ensure training takes place as needed

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Background in the human services field working with individuals with IDD is preferred
  • Certification or ability to obtain certification in required curriculum areas (e.g.,Red Cross Standard First Aid, CPR, Professional Crisis Management, Positive Behavior Supports etc.)
  • Proficient in various computer programs and online meeting platforms including but not limited to Google Meet, Zoom, etc.

Additionally, training in Professional Crisis Management requires squatting, bending, holding individuals, and assisting in carrying the weight of a person.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Additionally, the person holding this position must be able to meet the physical requirements necessary to obtain trainer certification for standard first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and the appropriate non-violent crisis intervention curriculum, along with any other required training.
