Senior CAD Designer
A Senior CAD Designer is needed for a world leader in medical devices that seeks to offer innovative solutions in neurosurgery, and reconstructive and general surgery in the Irvine, CA area. The Senior CAD Designer designs and updates medical devices using SolidWorks, applying mechanical design principles and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

responsibilities:
- Seeking a skilled and creative Medical Device Senior Mechanical CAD Designer/Design Engineer to support the product engineering team.
- Responsible for designing, developing, and updating medical devices using Solidworks and possibly Onshape CAD software.
- Requires a strong understanding of mechanical/electromechanical design and drafting principles.
- Must apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) in compliance with the ASME Y14.5 GD&T Standard.
- Incorporate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles into product designs.
- Create, modify, and update detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for medical device components and assemblies.
- Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing Engineering to update existing product designs.
Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software, specifically SolidWorks.
- Knowledge and experience in applying GD&T and Design for Manufacturing principles.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other design analysis tools.
- Understanding of materials used in medical devices.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified SolidWorks Professional).
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, teamwork abilities, and attention to detail.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
- 3D Solid Model CAD training and 6-10 years of CAD design experience in medical devices or similar products.
