Our client is an innovative automotive parts manufacturer with over 120 years of experience in South Chicago, specializing in next-generation technologies for the automotive industry. They are currently seeking a Quality Manager to oversee systems at their Chicago plant.
Job Description
The Quality Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Ensure continuous compliance with IATF 16949 standards.
- Collaborate with OEM customers to monitor and improve quality performance, aiming to enhance customer relationships.
- Train, develop, and mentor team members in engineering, technician, and coordinator roles.
- Lead cross-functional teams to create and update Process Control Plans, Manufacturing Process Plans, FMEAs, and Process Masters.
- Initiate and manage corrective and preventive actions (CAR/PAR), ensuring timely follow-up.
- Oversee claims and non-conforming product activities, ensuring all internal and external documentation is processed appropriately.
- Review Heat Treatment nonconformances and determine disposition for retesting or reprocessing.
- Assess Material Test Reports for compliance with order specifications and submit to customers as needed.
- Track quality-related data, including nonconformances and first-pass quality, in QA databases.
- Generate quality reports and update monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data.
- Prepare First Article and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submission packages.
- Conduct Internal Quality Audits in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
- Coordinate supplier quality activities, including supplier audits and surveys.
- Complete customer quality surveys as required.
- Support Metallurgy team with Contract Review as needed.

The Successful Applicant
A Successful Quality Manager will have the following:
- Over 10 years of experience in the automotive industry
- More than 5 years of leadership experience
- Proven success in training and developing quality-focused teams
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Expertise in corrective actions and root cause analysis
- Experience collaborating with automotive OEM customers
- In-depth knowledge of AIAG core tools
- Salary between $100,000-$130,000 depending on experience
- Bonus up to 10%
