Cost Accounting Manager

About Our Client

This key role will be integral in managing the cost accounting functions and driving financial performance improvements across our manufacturing operations.

• Lead the cost accounting team to develop, implement, and maintain cost accounting systems, processes, and procedures.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead, to determine product cost structures and profitability.
• Prepare and review monthly cost reports, including variance analysis between actual and standard costs, and provide actionable insights to management.
• Develop and maintain cost models to support product pricing, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
• Conduct regular inventory analysis, including valuation of finished goods, raw materials, and work-in-progress.
• Ensure accurate cost allocation and consistency in cost tracking across the organization.
• Provide support for month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of cost-related financial data.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other accounting standards.
• Lead and mentor a team of cost accountants, providing training, guidance, and professional development opportunities.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA, CMA, or similar professional certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food or baked goods industry.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, manufacturing processes, and inventory management.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
• Exceptional analytic, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• ERP Implementation experience necessary.
• Leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
