We are inviting applications for the role of a Grant Accountant in San Francisco, California. This role focuses on supporting our financial department in auditing, general ledger duties, and reconciliations. The position will offer a hybrid work model, with the opportunity to work remotely for two days a week.
This is a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:- Conduct support activities for audits, ensuring all financial operations align with current laws and regulations.
- Execute general ledger duties, maintaining accurate financial information for reference purposes.
- Carry out reconciliation tasks, making sure all financial records are consistent and accurate.
- Engage with staff and directors, providing them with key financial information during quarterly or monthly meetings.
- Handle billing responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
- Understand and adhere to Federal Grant schedules for audits.
- Work closely with the team to determine the status of Grants.
- Ensure all financial actions are allowable and within the ambit of our financial policy. • Possess a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role as a Grant Accountant
- Hold a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Experience in audit
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Understanding of data privacy standards and regulations
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
- Familiarity with accounting software and databases
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make well-judged decisions
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
