Accounts Payable Specialist

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be a key member of our team, contributing to the efficient operation of the organization by assisting with financial tasks such as payment processing, bank reconciliations, and managing accounts payable.

• Actively manage and oversee the accounts payable process
• Handle daily cash payments and ensure they are accurately recorded
• Process 3-way match to verify invoices, receipt of goods, and purchase orders
• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Obtain necessary signatures from managers for approval of payments
• Double-check contracts for accuracy and compliance
• Utilize SAP and PeopleSoft ERP systems for financial management tasks
• Collaborate with other Accounts Payable Clerks and Entry Level Accounting Clerks in the team
• Ensure all financial tasks are completed in a timely manner.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role
• Experience working in government strongly preferred
• Proven expertise in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Proficiency in using SAP software
• Experience with PeopleSoft ERP system
• Knowledge and experience in performing Bank Reconciliations
• Excellent numerical skills with attention to detail
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred
