Controller

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Controller in Chicago, Illinois. This role is primarily focused on overseeing financial activities for our client, with a particular emphasis on maintaining compliance with ASC 606 and using NetSuite software.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
• Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Developing and documenting business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances
• Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements
• Working closely with management or executive teams to share reports and analysis findings
• Ensuring our financial management is accurate and effective
• Managing organizational cash flow and forecasting
• Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting
• Researching technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are a plus.
• Proven work experience as a Financial Controller or similar role is required.
• Strong knowledge and experience with accounting and financial procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ASC 606.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar financial management software is necessary.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills, is necessary.
