Unit Secretary/Nursing Tech - Medical Specialty Unit
Overview:
Rust Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Tech to join our Medical Specialty team and contribute to our mission of providing high-quality care. You will work under the supervision of registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to support patient care activities and ensure a safe and clean environment.Your responsibilities will include assisting with patient assessments, monitoring vital signs, and performing basic nursing tasks. Additionally, you will help maintain patient records, prepare equipment, and provide emotional support to patients and their families.

Qualifications:
- High School/GED
- Clinical experience OR completion of Unit Secretary course OR completion of self-study module preferred.
- Must successfully complete competency verification before starting on assigned unit
- BLS required at time of hire
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with patient care activities such as taking vital signs, performing EKGs, and drawing blood.
- Providing basic patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Monitoring patients' conditions and reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
- Transporting patients to various departments within the hospital.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of medical equipment and supplies.
- Documenting patient information accurately and promptly.
- Collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
