CGS is currently seeking a Mechanical Technician with demonstrated experience as a Millwright to join one of our equipment maintenance and preservation projects in the Jacinto Port and Channelview area.
This position will commence immediately and be full time working 40 hours per week Monday through Friday.
Your day-to-day tasks include:
- Carry out preventative maintenance of mechanical equipment during storage.
- Support preservation maintenance activities on non-mechanical equipment as required
- Maintain equipment as per specifications and standards.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, designs and maintenance manuals
- Periodical inspections on mechanical equipment in storage
- Periodical reporting of preventative maintenance activities to supervision
- Document and accurately record faults or problems, prepare required information for reporting purposes
- Support the ordering of any products or equipment components and complete any preservation maintenance activities on associated equipment
- Use of a wide variety of hand, portable, and stationary power tools
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements.
Successful candidates will have:
- Experience in safe in-plant maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment.
- Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience in construction and or operational maintenance
- High school diploma
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong commitment to safety
- Be able to successfully complete criminal background check, drug and alcohol screen
- Must be able to acquire Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC)
- Hold a valid driver’s license
