Manufacturing Engineer
Position Purpose:
To be broadly responsible to support design & development engineering, manufacturing, and quality to ensure the efficient flow of design materials and activities from the design stage through to product realization. To develop, improve, and otherwise support design, production, and delivery activities to meet customer needs and company objectives.
Qualifications & Abilities:
Hands-on problem-solving style.
Understanding of lean methodology helpful. Having a green belt or higher 6 Sigma preferred.
Proficient in various computer software, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), SolidWorks (or similar), Altium (or similar).
Self-motivated and self-directed, requiring minimal oversight to meet objectives and timelines.
Understanding of electronics industry standards such as IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC-A-620, preferred.
3+ years of technical engineering experience in a manufacturing, mechanical, or electrical role is preferred. Knowledge of electronic circuit design and manufacturing strongly preferred.
Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals and teams, at all levels of the organization.
4 year (preferred) or 2-year technical degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or other relevant Engineering field.
Able to pass a background check and drug screen.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Support the implementation and evolution of safety procedures.
Perform production equipment programming. (Highest Priority)
Identify and implement cost/time reduction opportunities such as increasing machine/process efficiency, reducing cost of poor quality, improving material flow and layout, etc. (Highest Priority)
Maintain and oversee the Calibration & Maintenance processes/tasks.
Process ECOs quickly and effectively; lead the disposition of NCRs/RMAs/CARs; conduct root-cause analyses in conjunction with others to arrive at solutions that provide measurable improvements.
Review design engineering materials for / and assure completeness and correctness, manufacturability, and the ability to meet customer expectations. Recommend and facilitate/perform improvements.
Serve as a production technical support expert to interface with Sales and the customer regarding part quality concerns, tooling requirements, part qualification/validation issues, and any other production-related issues helping to ensure superior customer satisfaction.
Create and/or update all documentation related to production (travelers, routing, drawings, work & inspection instructions, BOMs, etc.) to ensure correct information to build quality product is available.
Help design and build fixtures, recommend and install equipment.
Perform job-related tasks (job entry and step creation) in the ERP system.
Contribute to team effort by performing other tasks as appropriate and/or necessary.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds.
Performing machine and production-related activities; good hand/finger dexterity; good eyesight.
