IT Technician

Overview:
The IT Support Technician is responsible for maintaining and supporting IT-related activities to ensure seamless computer services for users. This role involves technical planning, collaboration with central IT, and project coordination. The position also has a dotted-line reporting structure to the Deputy CIO for IT Operations and Services at TCUS.
Responsibilities:
Local Expertise:
- Provide IT support to staff, teachers, and students in a friendly and timely manner.
- Set up new user profiles, email accounts, and related configurations.
- Install and configure hardware, software, and drivers.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues both in-person and remotely.
- Maintain and repair technological equipment and peripheral devices.
- Keep detailed records of repairs and fixes for future reference.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Collaboration with Touro Central IT:
- Install and upgrade antivirus and Touro-specific software to maintain security.
- Support IT projects of varying complexity, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
- Perform regular system upgrades to keep software and hardware updated.
- Work with departments and management to resolve escalated issues and provide recommendations.
- Align IT support with organizational policies while meeting user needs.
- Assist in upgrading data and information security protocols.
- Support network administration under the guidance of the TCUS networking team.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of three years of experience in computer support and maintenance.
- Networking knowledge is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral).
- Ability to work independently and prioritize workload effectively.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands:
- Extensive use of computers.
- Frequent standing, walking, and handling of small equipment.
- Ability to access tight spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Computer Skills:
- Strong understanding of operating systems, networking, hardware, and software used in educational and business settings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Office 365.
- Demonstrable expertise in key technology disciplines used within HTC/TOURO.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to a varied audience.
- Strong discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Maximum Salary: USD $60,000.00/Yr.
Minimum Salary: USD $55,000.00/Yr.
