Digital Content Intern
This is a paid, part-time internship of 30-35 hours a week with a tentative start date in May 2025 and ending in August 2025 (dates TBD). This position will be based onsite in Arlington, VA.The Digital Content Intern's primary function is to assist the Office of Communications with the creation of compelling content for use across digital media, including website and email communications and social media. Throughout the course of the internship, the Digital Content Intern will have the opportunity to grow skills in graphic design, video production and post-production, photo editing and optimization, drafting copy, and more.
Over the course of the internship, duties include:- Creating campaign-specific content for liturgical seasons, feast days, and more
- Designing and optimizing graphics and other visuals for digital media environments, including website, social media, and email
- Brainstorming and facilitating creative ideas for Instagram reels, posts, and stories
- Exploring creative solutions for incorporating more motion graphics to the media mix
- Assisting the media team with production and post-production needs including podcasting, filming/photographing, and editing
- Managing and cataloguing digital assets, including photo, video, and audio files
- Other duties as assigned.
This position is overseen by the Deputy Communications Director with day-to-day management by the Digital and Social Media Manager. Interaction with most members of the communications team and other chancery staff will occur daily.
Qualifications:- Rising sophomore in college or beyond; studying communications, marketing, or English
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities
- Strong graphic design skills and knack for creating compelling visual content
- A proven ability to work independently within a team environment
- Grounding in the Catholic faith with a desire and ability to promote the mission
- Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects)
- Social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X and YouTube
- Familiarity with the diocesan Strategic Plan
- Proficiency in Spanish a plus
