Network Administrator

Overview:

Willow Valley Communities is hiring a Network Administrator to be responsible for the design, monitoring, deployment, maintenance and documentation of the network infrastructure. Additionally, the Network Administrator will handle issues escalated by Technical Systems Specialist and Helpdesk Technician.

This is an on site position at our office location

Responsibilities:

• Installs, configures, and maintains print servers, Resident copiers, and Team Member business printers and copiers.
• Performs day-to-day network operations and administrative activities on the Willow Valley Communities wired and wireless networks.
• Perform installation, upgrades, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization on the WVC networks. (i.e. firmware and version upgrades, switches, routers, and Wireless Access Points).
• Maintains networking closets with appropriate documentation and organization.
• Supports, manages, and installs Cisco Switches, Meraki Wireless Access Points, and Fortigate firewalls.
• Managing router/switch configurations, IP addresses and related network services.
• Recommends, plans and performs upgrades to existing WVC network infrastructure as needed.
• Implements, maintains and provides network support to Willow Valley Communities and remote locations.
• Identifies and resolves network problems in coordination with the System Administrator.
• Coordinates with third-party vendors and technology providers to troubleshoot network issues when needed.
• Maintains plans, designs, and architecture documentation and provides logical network data flow charts.
• Monitors bandwidth requirements and conducts capacity planning to ensure appropriate bandwidth management.
• Provide backup support to the Technology Technician on GPON system.
• Participate in the network design of new and on-going renovation construction projects.
• Stays current with IT and networking technologies through a variety of educational curricula.
• Assists with the installation of new and replacement PC’s and laptops.
• Provides updates, status, and completion information to the System Administrator and/or the Senior Director of IT and/or other Team Members via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication.
• Part of IT On Duty rotation covering evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of associate’s degree in information technology and 5 years’ experience as a Network Administrator or a bachelor’s degree in information technology with 3 years’ of related networking experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Working knowledge of VMware and both on premise and cloud Microsoft technologies.
• Working knowledge of all networking protocols.

Hours:

• 40 hours/week

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
• On call rotation
