Laboratory Supervisor (1st Shift)
- Shift Time Tuesday- Friday 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM

PRIMARY PURPOSE(S)
This position is responsible for the direct supervision and daily oversight of assigned departments and laboratory employees. This position is responsible for Directly supervising the Laboratory Scientists.
QUALIFICATIONS- Basic computer skills and experience with computer programs such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to maintain records in accordance with procedure and regulations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records as required by state and federal laws and regulations
- Ability to effectively delegate
- Ability to make decisions consistent with policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines
- Scientific and technical knowledge from current sources, such as the AABB/FACT/CAP Standards and relevant guidance related to FDA, CLIA, and CMA, both state and federal
- Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations and voluntary accrediting standards related to the operation of clinical laboratories and blood banks
- Knowledge of laboratory processes, inventory requirements, and quality systems
EDUCATION
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree; chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution
EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED: Five years or more laboratory or clinical training or experience in high complexity testing
CERTIFICATION
PREFERRED: MT, ASCP, AAB, AMT

Will be required to comply with governmental regulations and strictly observe privacy and security related policies, procedures and practices to preserve the integrity and confidentiality of medical and other sensitive information pertaining to donors, patients, research subjects, and staff.Will be required to enter areas where other individuals work with human blood; potential may exist for unanticipated exposure to bloodborne pathogens by splash or spill.
