This is a remote opportunity with a 6-month contract duration.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with expertise in working with big data platforms and relational databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and business acumen, along with experience in data profiling, data mapping, and workflow analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with SQL and query big data platforms, relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, and DB2.
• Perform business data definition, data profiling, and data mapping analysis.
• Analyze business workflows and technology issues to facilitate informed decision-making.
• Demonstrate an excellent understanding of how technology impacts business processes and outcomes.
• Provide technical solutions with a strong focus on business needs.
• Multi-task effectively while managing time and organizational responsibilities.
• Solve complex problems independently, applying strong analytical skills.
• Communicate and present findings effectively, maintaining high documentation standards.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Excellent knowledge of SQL and experience working with big data platforms and relational databases.
• Strong understanding of business and technical workflows.
• Ability to perform business data definition and mapping.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
• Experience with Data APIs, including working with RESTful endpoints and/or SOAP.

Preferred Skills & Experience: Experience with Microsoft Azure, Databricks, Hadoop 2.0 ecosystems, HDFS, and Pyspark.
