Accounts Payable Clerk

Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk in the Import/Export industry for our client located in Covington, Louisiana. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be dealing with account reconciliation, customer credit application processing, and efficient data entry in a dynamic workplace environment.
This is a short-term contract to full time employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct account reconciliation activities to ensure all financial data is accurate
- Process customer credit applications in a detailed and efficient manner
- Maintain and update customer credit records regularly
- Perform check runs to ensure timely and accurate payments
- Handle coding invoices tasks carefully to minimize errors
- Perform data entry tasks to update our database with the latest information
- Process invoices and ensure all details are accurate
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize data and perform financial tasks
- Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary
- Must have a strong understanding of the Import/Export industry
- Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is required
- Demonstrated experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
- Ability to run Check Runs is necessary
- Experience with Coding Invoices is essential
- Strong Data Entry skills are required
- Proficiency in Invoice Processing is necessary
- Must have strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have strong problem-solving skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of standard accounting procedures
- Must have a high degree of integrity and confidentiality
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
