Job Description:

The Environmental Services Coordinator is responsible for providing support for the Department’s Director regarding organization, time management, reporting, compliance and communication. Performs primary duties and demonstrates understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Office products in a business environment.

Demonstrates understanding and knowledge of EVS operations. Exhibits and promotes strong customer service skills etc.

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE

Full Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
  • Promotes a culture of safety, Culture of Ownership and employee engagement and retention activities by maintaining open communication and support for frontline staff.
  • Provides comprehensive oversight of new hires throughout the onboarding and training process.
  • Proactively handles any improvement opportunities or concerns. Leads and/or collaborates in performance improvement/process improvement activities.
  • Employs effective and appropriate use of computers and mobile devices for daily job performance activities using applicable hardware or software, attaching files, composing cohesive and appropriate electronic messages and appropriately using internet browsers or sites. This includes, but is not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Clockworks, Aperek, and the Electronic Health Record.
  • Provides training, assistance and guidance to ensure all EVS staff maintain appropriate access and utilization practices of Midland Memorial Hospital computerized programs (e.g. PolicyTech, Learning Management System, and employee email).
  • Collaborates to create Departmental and Organizational presentations and educational materials.
  • Maintain employee information database.
  • Supports Operations Manager with Employee Time Management.
  • Assists Director in the preparation of department reports and correspondence as well as maintenance of department records (e.g. employee information database, department meetings, invoices, etc.)
  • Assists in maintaining the Director’s calendar:
  • Establishing timely reminder to the Director or impending administration tasks/reports/meetings
  • Facilitate the scheduling of department meetings
  • Will be required to receive appropriate training for:
  • Proxy Author training for EVS documents in PolicyTech
  • Department Educator training in NetLearning
  • Department Safety Officer for the EVS department
  • Physical Environment Audit Team Member
  • Provides administrative support for in the absence of other members of the EVS Leadership team.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Designated trainer for Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (TChest), Certified DOT trainer, Certified Surgical Clean Technician (T-CSCT) preferred. If not previously certified in these areas, will be required to obtain these certifications within 12 months of accepting position.
