Accounts Payable Specialist

This is a contract to permanent employment opportunity in the industry.

• Manage the 3-way matching payment verification method, including purchase orders, receiving reports, and vendor invoices
• Monitor and take advantage of discount opportunities when paying vendors
• Schedule and prepare checks for vendor payments
• Resolve any issues related to purchase orders, invoices, or payments
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable files
• Collaborate with the Receiving and Purchasing Departments to address any shortages, pricing, or damage issues
• Provide support to the Accounts Payable team
• Participate in special projects as needed
• Ensure understanding of vendor terms of payment
• Perform data entry and general ledger tasks. • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable or similar role
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Demonstrated experience in Account Reconciliation
• Knowledge of Accrual Entries is a must
• Familiarity with General Ledger
• Strong data entry skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks or SAP
• Ability to handle confidential information in a discrete and detail oriented manner
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently when needed.
