Patient Registration - San Pedro

• Friday from 11 am
• 7 pm with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities:

• Register patients upon arrival in the Emergency Department, documenting all necessary demographic and insurance information in a timely and accurate manner.
• Consistently follow department procedures related to registration, including verification of insurance coverage and patient eligibility.
• Collect co-payments and provide clear information to patients about the billing procedures and payment policies.
• Maintain a compassionate demeanor while handling sensitive situations with patients and their families, all while ensuring adherence to privacy and confidentiality laws and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with medical staff to ensure seamless transitions for the patient from intake through treatment.
• Maintaining patient records by updating account information, as needed.
• Assist with other administrative tasks, as needed.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in Emergency Department patient registration is required. Candidates must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within this field.
• Strong data entry and computer skills, with proficiency in medical software systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact positively with patients and medical professionals under stressful circumstances.
• High level of professionalism and the capacity to manage sensitive and confidential information.
• The ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and think critically in a fast-paced environment. Military veterans are encouraged to apply.
