Overview:
Summary of Responsibilities: The Medical Assistant performs various clinical and administrative duties in support of the in-take, examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the Medical Manager, Medical Director, and APRN/Physician Assistant.
Medical Assistant Duties and responsiblities:
- Performs patient care, administrative and environmental responsibilities as assigned
- Conducts CAOHC certified Audiological Testing, Phlebotomy, Pulmonary Function Testing and Drug Testing
- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records and keeping patient information confidential
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications
- Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Works and communicates cross departmentally
- Other duties as assigned
Work Hours:
Shift schedule is 1:30-10 with rare instances of coverage on weekends
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant school, Patient Care Technician, Emergency Medical Technician training OR 2 + years’ experience in a medical setting providing patient care
- Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, professionalism, bedside manner, teamwork and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast paced multifaceted environment
- Support and model company core values
Preferred:
- Certified Medical Assistant
- CAOHC and phlebotomy certification
- Drug testing experience
- Experience with EMR (electronic medical records), medical terminology
- Previous experience in occupational clinic / medical setting
