Materials Process Engineer
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Materials Engineer with expertise in composites or paper manufacturing to join our dynamic team in Rutland, VT. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for materials science.In this role, you will work on a variety of exciting projects, supporting the development and optimization of materials for Mica Tapes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, analyze, and optimize materials for composite and paper manufacturing, ensuring they meet performance, quality, and cost targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and test new materials for various manufacturing processes.
- Conduct material testing and analyze results to identify issues and recommend improvements.
- Apply knowledge of materials properties, failure analysis, and manufacturing processes to enhance product performance.
- Provide technical support to other departments, offering expertise on materials throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Monitor industry trends, advancements in materials, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Document findings, prepare technical reports, and present results to stakeholders.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science Engineering.
- Proven experience in materials engineering with a focus on composites and/or paper manufacturing.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in materials testing and failure analysis.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as lamination, molding, and papermaking.
- Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
