Supplier Quality Manager

Food Brand focused on snack foods

• Develop, implement, and maintain the supplier quality management program, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, FSMA, etc.).
• Evaluate and approve new suppliers through audits, assessments, and qualification processes.
• Conduct regular supplier audits to ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety standards, and quality expectations.
• Manage supplier non-conformance issues, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Procurement and R&D teams during the onboarding of new suppliers and materials.
• Maintain and update supplier documentation, including certifications, specifications, and quality agreements.
• Monitor supplier performance metrics and provide regular reports to internal stakeholders.
• Lead supplier risk assessments and help develop mitigation plans to reduce potential quality and safety issues.
• Stay current on industry regulations, standards, and best practices, implementing changes as necessary.
• Provide training and guidance to internal teams and suppliers regarding quality standards and food safety requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in supplier quality management within the food manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards (GFSI, SQF, BRC), regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, FSMA), and quality management systems.
• Experience conducting supplier audits and managing corrective action plans.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Certification in HACCP, PCQI, or similar is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to supplier sites as needed (up to 30%).
