Job Description:
We are currently in search of a dedicated and experienced Grant Accountant to join our financial team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in grant accounting within a non-profit or government industry. They will be extensively familiar with the application, monitoring, and reporting of grants as per federal, state, and local regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage all aspects of grant-related financial statements and reports.
- Monitor and analyze the expenditure of grant funds for compliance with the budget.
- Coordinate with program personnel to ensure financial reporting requirements are met.
- Review and approve grant budgets, amendments, and budget reallocations.
- Develop and present financial analysis and reports for management.
- Prepare various financial analysis, as needed for grant applications.
- Implement and monitor internal controls over grant revenues and expenses.
- Maintain a complete, well-organized, and up-to-date grant financial file archive.
- Conduct financial training for program directors and project managers regarding grant management as required.
- Work with external auditors on the annual audit and grant-specific audits.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in grant accounting within the non-profit or government sector.
- Comprehensive knowledge of grant policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Exceptional knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations preferred.
- Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and discretion with confidential information.
