Overview:

The Manager of Education Services is responsible to lead all efforts in developing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise wide education and training programs. Provides direct supervision for Education Services staff and serves as a clinical consultant in patient care areas.

Has knowledge of federal and state regulations, and, accrediting body requirements, as applied to implementation of education programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages development and implementation of educational programs for clinical and non-clinical departments, including management of Clinical Coordinators, Program Coordinators, educators and support staff.
  • Oversees assessment of training needs for all areas.
  • Manages development of educational programs, through a variety of media including lectures, written materials, on-line presentations, role-playing and other media, as appropriate.
  • Oversees clinical and non-clinical orientation programs.
  • Acts as resource person for all educators and program coordinators in education services.
  • Plans and implements educational programs for the Health Enterprise. Oversees evaluation of the effectiveness of education programs.
  • Serves as clinical consultant for patient-care areas.
  • Oversees department compliance with education-related record keeping requirements.
  • Maintains current working knowledge of federal and state regulations, and, accrediting body requirements, as applied to implementation of education programs.

Qualifications:

Required Education:

  • Masters degree in nursing

Required Experience:

  • 5 years of clinical nursing experience
  • 2 years of staff development experience including use of performance improvement-related statistics in evaluating program effectiveness required
  • Working knowledge of research process required
  • Experience with analysis and interpretation of federal and state regulations and accrediting body requirements required

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in overseeing development and implementation of clinical and other educational programs including experience in formal education program evaluation preferred.
  • In-depth computer knowledge preferred including experience with EMR’s and Microsoft Office products.
