Accounting Manager

Overview:

This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, management expertise, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Team Management:
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll specialists.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, set objectives, and offer guidance to team members for professional growth.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis:
• Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements (e.g., income statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports).
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Compliance & Audit:
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations, including tax requirements and reporting standards.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and coordinate audit processes.
• System Management:
• Maintain and optimize ERP systems for financial reporting and tracking.
• Support process improvements through the adoption of advanced tools, such as AI platforms and automation software.
• Budgeting & Forecasting:
• Lead the budgeting process by collaborating with other departments to estimate revenues and expenses.
• Provide insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making based on financial forecasts.
• Policy Development:
• Establish, document, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to ensure robust financial practices.
• Develop strategies to mitigate financial risks and improve operational efficiencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting standards (U.S. GAAP, IFRS) and financial reporting.
• Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Excel.
• At least 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with 2+ years in a managerial role.
• Expertise in compliance reporting, technical accounting, and audit processes.
