Skills/Qualifications:

The Role:

As a Solutions Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting Oracle Database by providing technical expertise and support to Redgate’s partners, customers, and sales teams. You’ll demonstrate how our products can solve specific customer problems related to Oracle Database and generate referenceable accounts and positive brand awareness.

While caring deeply about helping our customers succeed and meeting revenue targets, you’ll also work closely with the sales team and marketing on technical onboarding and training, as well as speaking at Redgate events (in-person and remote) to further educate our customers on the best practices of database change management, specifically within Oracle Database environments.

Your Work at Redgate Software:

  • Act as an advisor of Oracle database architecture.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to demonstrate the business value of Redgate solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and proof of concepts for customers.
  • Provide training and technical updates to Account Executives and Partners.
  • Lead technical training and development for the Sales Team, with regular reviews.
  • Work with Redgate advocates and product managers to support complex enterprise use cases.
  • Stay informed on competitors and market trends.
  • Relay customer feedback to Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales.
  • Represent Redgate at industry events, delivering demos and sessions.
  • Travel: 10-25%.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture, including objects, instances, databases, and schemas.
  • Proven experience as a solutions engineer or similar technical role in a high-tech company.
  • Up-to-date, hands-on experience with Oracle’s database technology.
  • Knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies in software delivery.
  • Experience in software development or database administration (desirable).
  • Ability to grasp technical information and effectively share it with a skilled audience.
  • Commercial awareness with a customer-focused approach to selling.
  • Demonstrable skills in planning and project management.

Salary:

  • Base: $115k - $145k
  • Bonus: $25k - $35k

  • Product training – Understand Redgate’s key 4 solution areas, their value proposition and how to demo the products
  • Study case studies and get acquainted with how our solutions help solve business challenges for our customers.
60 days – Training Day
  • Successfully demo key solution areas to internal team
  • Continue with product training but more focused on implementation.
  • Introduction to the SE engagement process and the general partnership between the AEs and the SEs at Redgate
  • Shadow customer demos and discovery calls from your peers
  • Meet the Product Managers
  • Discovery and demo Role plays with your SE mentor
  • 1st deal assigned with support from your SE mentor
  • Begin to develop a strong partnership with the Account Executive within your territory
90 days – Pursuit of Happiness
  • 1st solo deal assigned with adhoc support when needed.
  • POC and solution implementation role plays with your SE mentor and peers
  • Shadow peers on POC calls
  • Get familiar with the SE sales opportunity management platform
  • Competitors training and Redgate positioning
  • Record your first video for customer onboarding/training
  • Continue learning about the underlying technology of Redgate solutions such as different relational database systems, containers, Kubernetes and CI/CD platforms
