Part-time Program Coordinator - Financial Aid

Clark College is currently accepting applications for a part-time, permanent hourly Classified Program Coordinator position. This position provides front office support and leadership and supports financial aid outreach and communication efforts.

This is a part-time permanent position and expected to work approximately 17 hours a week in the Financial Aid department: Monday - Friday, hours will vary depending on current needs of the department.

**JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
  • Provide information and advice to students, staff, faculty, and public regarding financial aid services, financial aid status, policies, and recommend courses of action.
  • Oversee the upkeep and management of the Financial Aid student email communications including auto-reply content.
  • Direct the work of front-line staff. Act as support staff lead by assisting with questions that arise; audit incoming forms and documents and ensure staff and student communication are accurate and consistent.
  • Assist in training front desk staff in effective ways to address student needs and concerns.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of front desk training and procedure materials.
  • Set up, tear down, and participate in financial aid workshops and labs.
  • Advise students, parents, and community members on how to complete all required steps for the FAFSA/WASFA applications.
  • Provide information to the public and participate in outreach activities that pertain to financial aid and student loan requirements. Present information to participants as needed.
  • Create a safe, bias-free working environment, which engenders respect for differences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

**POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:**

Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of financial aid or equivalent related work experience.
  • Six (6) months experience in a clerical, administrative, or higher education work setting.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Experience presenting information in small and large group settings.
  • Proficient with Teams, Microsoft Suite, and Zoom.
**JOB READINESS/WORKING CONDITIONS:**
  • Ability to demonstrate professional communication and conduct, collaborative decision making, and team building. Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time and lift/move items up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.

  • The initial appointment will include a 6-month probationary period, and the employee will earn permanent status after successfully completing probation.
