Responsibilities:
As our Physical Therapist at St Johns Hospital Camarillo, a member of CommonSpirit Health, you’ll help our patients rebuild or maintain their physical wellbeing following an illness, injury, or issues with aging. Using various treatments, you will help patients reduce pain, build strength and endurance, increase range of motion, or develop better balance to keep them functioning at their best level.
You’re always ready for the next task and are comfortable with a flexible caseload. Our Physical Therapists perform most treatments themselves, meeting with patients for initial evaluations, re-evaluations, and treatments. Our Rehabilitation environment is busy and fast-paced but full of collaborative and supportive team members willing to offer help or advice at any time.
To thrive as a Physical Therapist, you must have strong organizational skills, successfully prioritize work, and be a team player. You’ll collaborate with other therapists, patients, and their families to seek best possible treatment outcomes.This includes working independently and working in a team oriented environment, with the willingness to participate in departmental and hospital programs. As a Physical Therapist, you should be personable, positive, and motivated to provide quality care to a wide variety of patients.
- Work with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and therapists to develop and execute a treatment plan for each patient.
- Perform initial patient evaluations as well as re-evaluations to indicate the level of progress.
- Document all treatments and note any status changes.
- Tailor treatments to individual patients as needed.
- Seek new learning opportunities and be a resource when others need to learn from you.
- Ability to mentor and coach student interns or oversee their clinical experience.
Qualifications:
- Two (2) years clinical experience
- Current California license in physical therapy
- Current CPR
- Standard practices procedures and equipment utilized knowledge
- Strong interpersonal skills with fellow staff members, physicians, and public
- Ability to function with a high degree of independence and competence
