MMDC - Interventional Radiology Technician

Job Summary:

• The Interventional Radiology Technician assists proceduralists during complex diagnostic and interventional vascular and neuro-interventional cases. This role requires expertise in fluoroscopic modalities, sterile techniques, and critical thinking during intricate procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist proceduralists during complex diagnostic and interventional vascular and neuro-interventional cases, including scrubbing side by side with specialty proceduralists.
• Operate floor and ceiling-mounted fluoroscopic modality machines.
• Identify, retrieve, and circulate complex products during interventional procedural cases.
• Critically think and support proceduralists during neuro-interventional and complex cases.
• Operate power injection devices for iodinated contrast media during procedures.
• Maintain sterile techniques and infection prevention while setting up procedural trays.
• Positively contribute to a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, radiologists, and vascular surgeons.
• Document procedures in the electronic medical record and send images to Sectra/PACS systems.
• Manage groin care post-intervention.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills using closed-loop communication.
• Provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Skills & Expertise Required:

• 3–5 years of experience as an Interventional Radiologic Technologist or Cardiovascular Technologist with NJ radiographic licensure.

Required:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Associate degree or completion of an accredited radiographic program.

Preferred:

• N/A

Certifications & Licensure:

• NJ radiographic licensure.
• BLS certification from an AHA-accredited provider or equivalent, with skill demonstration in basic life support.
• Current Radiography (R) certification with ARRT.
