Overview:

Community First is looking for a PRN Counselor to join our team!

This position is part of a multi-disiclinary team, providing Substance Use Disorder (SUD) or Behavioral Health (BH) services to clients (services provided will be based on Licensure). This position is PRN (as needed) with no guarantee of set hours.

This position can provide group or indivdual services. These services are provided within the guidelines established by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and the Joint Commission.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts intake assessments and render treatment recommendations if necessary
  • Provides out-patient SUD or MH (based on licensure) services to a population that may include adolescents, adults or geriatrics, and their families. These clients may also undergo treatment for co-occurring mental health diagnoses.
  • Provide case management services to include, but not limited to monitoring, support, resource allocation, education, and crisis intervention when needed
  • Conduct group, individual, and/or family counseling.
  • Collaborates with the management team to ensure quality services are delivered to clients.
  • Required to have all documentation signed off on by an independently licensed supervisor.
  • Regular supervision and case staffing with a supervisor when needed
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and competency in service provision – including assessment, treatment planning, continued stay evaluation, and education.
  • Must work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Complete documentation in accordance with agency policy standards.
  • Prepare accurate written reports/correspondence for referral sources and other relevant parties as needed.
  • Maintain adherence to all ethical and legal standards of practice.
  • Establish and maintain productivity standards per calendar year.
  • Observe urine drug screens

  • Other duties as assigned and appropriate for the position.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors degree or higher

Licenses or other required certifications: Must have one of the following, CDCA, LCDCII, LCDCIII, LICDC, LPC, LSW, LPCC, or LISW. We can accept someone willing to obtain CDCA within 60 days of hire.

Experience: Prefer prior experience providing SUD or MH services and documenting in an electronic health record
