Academic Advisor, Juniors and Transfer Students - College of Arts & Science

Position Summary:

The College of Arts & Science is seeking a dedicated Academic Advisor to join their team. This individual is a member of the College Advising team, specifically the New Students Team, reporting to the Associate Director of Transfer Student Advising.
This position will focus on creating innovative programs and services for juniors and new transfer students in the College. They will play a lead role in the development and implementation of comprehensive transfer orientation and advising, transfer and junior student leader development, and junior-year class activities & programming.
This person will assist with collecting and analyzing retention and student satisfaction data in an effort to recommend new programs and services to meet the changing needs of juniors and transfer students. The advisor will provide an overview of curriculum, policies and procedures for all of their advisees.

They will also collaborate with colleagues across Admissions, Registrar and other NYU schools departments, and the Center for Student Life to facilitate successful execution of programs and processes. They will analyze data received through student inquiries, market research, and input and recommend new programs and courses to meet changing needs.

Qualifications:

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education: Master's Degree in higher education/student affairs strongly preferred

Required Experience:

3+ years experience in counseling, advising, student services, program development or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Ability to interpret and communicate policies to individuals at all levels. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Information:

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $75,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
