Job Description: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

Location: Kennesaw, GA Salary: $95,000 - $120,000/year + full benefits

Position Overview: The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager will lead and manage EHS programs to ensure regulatory compliance, team member engagement, and the ongoing improvement of the EHS management system across multiple locations.
Based in Kennesaw, GA, this position requires weekly travel to Fayetteville and Grayson locations, as well as monthly visits to a sister site near Tampa, FL. The role involves inspecting and evaluating workplaces to ensure compliance with safety regulations, conducting safety training programs, and identifying hazardous situations to prevent safety incidents.

This position reports administratively to the General Manager and functionally to the Director of Health & Safety.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety Science, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field (preferred).
  • EHS certification (e.g., CSP, ASP).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive EHS experience, including experience with EHS management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
  • Expertise in occupational safety, including life-critical processes (e.g., cranes, LOTO, fall protection).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage all employee levels.
  • Ability to travel frequently and work in a matrixed environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation and management of EHS programs to maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, RCRA, DOT/IATA/IMDG, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure safety programs, training, and reporting requirements are up-to-date and effective.
  • Inspect working environments and processes to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Manage workers' compensation claims and collaborate with injured workers, supervisors, and HR for case management.
  • Conduct new team member safety orientation and ongoing training.
  • Maintain environmental compliance across multiple locations through audits, inspections, and proper documentation.
  • Drive behavioral safety programs to enhance safety culture within the organization.
  • Collaborate with corporate teams to implement consistent safety standards and best practices.
  • Travel 40-50% of the time to various sites.
