Respiratory Therapist - RT24-15206

Shift: Nights (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM), 12-hour shifts with a 36-hour guarantee. Shift schedule includes 5-6 nights on followed by 7-8 nights off.

Job Description:

• The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing cardiopulmonary care services as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with established standards. The position involves working independently or in consultation with physicians to administer medications and perform therapeutic modalities and diagnostic testing related to respiratory care. The therapist will also be a critical responder to emergency situations, including cardiac arrest, and will provide CPR and manage life support systems.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments related to respiratory care as ordered by physicians.
• Perform diagnostic tests and therapies for the cardiopulmonary system, such as ABG (arterial blood gas) analysis, ventilator management, and pulmonary function tests.
• Respond to code blue situations and other emergencies, providing CPR and advanced life support.
• Assist in the management of patients with respiratory failure or other pulmonary conditions.
• Monitor and adjust ventilators, administer oxygen therapy, and ensure proper use of respiratory devices.
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to create and implement patient care plans.
• Document respiratory treatments and patient progress in the EMR system.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory therapy techniques and equipment usage when necessary.

Requirements:

Experience:

• 2+ years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience required.

Certifications:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required.
• BLS (AHA) required.
• ACLS certification preferred.

EMR: Familiarity with EPIC or similar EMR systems preferred.
