Human Resources Generalist

We are in search of a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in the construction industry, based in Long Beach, California. As a Human Resources Generalist, you will handle a wide range of responsibilities, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, training and development, performance management, HR policies and procedures, and insurance management.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and selection.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation programs to ensure smooth integration into the team.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee concerns and inquiries, providing guidance and resolving issues as needed.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.
  • Support and coordinate employee training and development programs.
  • Assist in the performance management process, including performance reviews and feedback mechanisms.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and enforcement of HR policies and procedures.
  • Handle professional insurance tasks, including the request of Certificate of Insurance for special contracts and organization of annual renewals.
  • Manage claims and oversee employee relations, fostering a positive work environment through conflict resolution and effective communication strategies.
  • Utilize skills such as ADP
  • Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, ATS
  • Asynchronous Transfer Mode, Ceridian, HCM, Benefit Functions, Communication, Compliance, Employee Relations, and Hiring Processes in daily tasks and responsibilities.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist role within the Construction/Contractor industry.
  • Proficiency in using ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now for HR management tasks.
  • Experience with ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode is required.
  • Familiarity with Ceridian HR software.
  • Must have a strong understanding of HCM (Human Capital Management) principles.
  • Ability to execute Benefit Functions, ensuring employee benefits are managed effectively.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with employees and management.
  • Should have a strong understanding of Compliance regulations within the HR scope.
  • Proven experience in managing Employee Relations, including conflict resolution and employee engagement.
  • Solid knowledge of Hiring Processes, including recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding.
