Electrical Controls Technician

What You’ll Do:
- Program and troubleshoot control systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA)
- Perform routine maintenance on automation equipment to minimize downtime
- Assist with system installations, commissioning, and calibration
- Collaborate with the team to optimize production and improve processes
- Support and train staff on using control systems
What You Bring:
- 5 plus years of experience in PLC programming and automation
- Hands-on experience with control systems like DCS and VFDs
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a focus on continuous improvement

- No Degree Required - Experience a MUST HAVE
- Second shift (curently 4/10's M-TH) (January will go to 5/8's M-F)
- NO WEEKENDS now or in the future

Responsibilities
Manufacturing Controls Technician for managing and troubleshooting automated control systems used in production environments. (engineering degree not required, but programming and experience is a must)
Programming and Troubleshooting: Develop, modify, and troubleshoot control systems, including PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), and HMI interfaces (e.g., WonderWare, RSView)
System Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting for control systems to minimize downtime. This includes diagnosing issues with systems like SCRs, VFD motors, and distributed control systems (DCS)
Installation & Commissioning: Assist with the installation, start-up, and commissioning of new control systems, including the calibration of instruments and control devices
Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with engineers and production teams to improve control processes, ensure optimal equipment performance
Maintain detailed documentation for all programming changes, provide reports on control system performance
Support training and development of other technical staff or operators on using and troubleshooting control systems
Proficient in PLC and HMI Programming
Programming proficiency in ladder logic and control software
Familiarity with control systems such as SCADA, DCS, and VFDs.
Experience with instrumentation calibration and control hardware debugging
Ability to troubleshoot complex control system issues and root cause analysis for downtime events
