Pioneer Metal Finishing is now hiring Chrome Platers!

Our Platers take pride in safely and efficiently unpackaging customer parts and carefully placing them on work racks. This work enables Chrome Platers to process the customer’s product according to their specifications. Once the metal finishing process is complete, Platers carefully remove the parts from work racks, package them and prepare them for shipping.

Pioneer provides all employees on-the-job training and development to ensure they follow proper procedures, identify quality issues, and understand all equipment used in the metal finishing process.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • This position is required to work with Chemicals.
  • Repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Have basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.
  • Responsibilities are repetitive in nature.
  • Works safely at all times and complies with all safety regulations while working with Hazardous materials and chemicals.
  • Read micrometers, thickness gages and profilometers.
  • Maintains equipment and work area in a clean and organized manner.
  • Operate all plating equipment.
  • Operate forklift, hand trucks and overhead hoists.
  • Inspect and package parts.
  • Be able to fabricate jigs and fixtures for parts, using hand and air power tools.
  • Ensures all customer product and tooling is handled properly to avoid damage.
  • Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed.

Physical/Environmental/Chemical Hazards:

  • Wear Protective gear deemed necessary for the job.
  • Potential splash exposure near process lines.
  • Sharp parts, sharp tooling, heavy carts, occasional hot and cold temperature and humidity levels, heat from ovens, moderate noise levels, limited hand and air tool use, compressed air (must use hearing protection).
  • Various chemicals are used in the process.
Education/Qualifications
  • High-school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Pioneer Metal Finishing is a drug-free environment; all potential candidates are subject to a pre-employment drug screen
