Residential Bilingual Shift Supervisor

Base pay starting at $23/hr, additional compensation for higher education/experience in the field up to $25.11/hr.
3 weeks Paid Orientation Training, M-F 8-4pm

In response to the humanitarian crisis at America’s ports of entry, Devereux provides short-term shelter care services for unaccompanied children who have come to the United States without a parent or legal guardian. Devereux provides extremely high-quality, trauma-informed residential and educational services for unaccompanied children, with intense supports for their social and emotional health.We will also ensure they receive excellent and immediate physical healthcare including pediatric, dental and nutritional supports for every child.
Devereux’s ultimate goal is to ensure every unaccompanied child who receives our services is successfully and quickly discharged into the loving care of their family sponsor and, during the short time they are with us, have received best-in-class medical, therapeutic, recreational and educational services designed specifically to address the traumas they have sustained during, and often before, their migration journey.
As a Bilingual Shift Supervisor at Devereux, you will be a critical part of a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated experts who share your passion for helping children in need. Bilingual Shift Supervisors report to the Program Director. The Bilingual Shift Supervisor will be:
- Responsible for the supervision of all Youth Care Workers at Devereux during their shift.
- Facilitate a structured schedule and collaborate with your team of Youth Care Workers to implement the activities on the schedule.
- Maintain a nurturing environment within the shelter that is conducive to healthy emotional growth among and between the children.
- Administrative oversight of daily tasks and procedures.
- You may be expected to provide some weekend coverage.

Qualifications:
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards)
- Valid driver's license
- High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
- One year of child welfare experience working with children and/or adolescents required
- One year of supervisory experience required
- Fully immunized/vaccinated (or have a medical/religious exemption) for Varicella, MMR, TdAp, Influenza prior to starting
Schedule:
- 3 weeks of new hire orientation: Monday - Friday, daytime (8-4, 9-5)
- Following orientation, the schedule will be Sunday - Wednesday with flexibility needed
