Accounts Payable Clerk

My team is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our client's team in Bethpage. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.

education: No Degree Required

• Review and verify invoices and check requests.
• Sort, code, and match invoices to purchase orders.
• Enter and upload invoices into the accounting system.
• Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up-to-date.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain vendor files and communicate with vendors to resolve any payment-related issues.
• Assist with month-end closing and other accounting tasks as needed.
• Prepare and provide reports and analysis related to accounts payable activities.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Proven 1-2 years experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or similar role.
• Familiarity with accounts payable procedures and general accounting principles.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus.
• strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• strong communication skills and the ability to work well with vendors and team members.
