Responsibilities:

Human Resources Generalist - Manufacturing plant - Aluminum Recycling

As a member of the plant Leadership Team, you will help guide the ongoing development of a positive employee culture. The HR Generalist is responsible for leading the day-to-day on-site HR related activities. Processing and maintaining all employee related records, recruiting employees, and administering payroll.

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies and processes for recruitment. Conduct/coordinate all employee recruitment at site. Administer processing of records in the candidate management and recruitment systems.
  • Responsible for the complete new-hire process including ensuring requisitions forms, on-boarding processes and budgets are adhered to. Ensure all recruitment compliance activities are followed and appropriately documented (postings, job files, pre-employment screenings, EEO/AAP annual filing, data tracking, etc.).
  • Conduct exit interviews and summarize data to assess retention issues.
  • Review and make recommendations to the Human Resource Management for any improvements to HR policies, procedures, and practices. Communicate appropriate changes to all employees and ensure compliance.
  • Compile and analyze statistical reports concerning key HR metrics (i.e., recruitment and EEO, headcount, and turnover) and advise Human Resources Management on areas of concern.
  • Manage all HR administration including timely and effective entry of payroll information for both hourly and salaried employees, overtime administration, file management, unemployment claim inquiries, maintain HRIS/related systems, transaction and data integrity. Administer and explain benefits to employees, conduct open enrollment, serve as liaison between employees and benefit department or insurance carriers as needed.
  • Provide support to Regional HR Manager with performance management, employee engagement, coaching and developing, succession planning, workforce planning and employee relations.

Qualifications:

  • A four-year Human Resources Management or Business-related degree is required. 3-5 years Human Resources experience is preferred OR an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge and skills. Requires excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of employment laws. PHR Certification or equivalent is desirable.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Business Applications software. Previous UKG/Dimensions and Kronos payroll system administration preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, listening and interpersonal skills. Must have ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. Previous UltiPro/Dimensions and Kronos payroll system administration preferred.
