We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Trailer Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing trailers to ensure they meet safety and operational standards. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in less-than-ideal spaces.
Qualifications: Proven experience as a Trailer Mechanic, with 1-3 years of related experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of trailers.Ability to diagnose and repair trailer systems, including air brake systems.
Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as micrometers, voltmeters, and multimeters.
Experience performing DOT inspections - DOT certification or willingness to obtain.
Physically able to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally, with assistance.
Comfortable working in less-than-ideal spaces, including cold or hot climates and tight areas under equipment.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Key Responsibilities: Perform maintenance and repairs on truck chassis, trailers, and associated equipment.
Diagnose and repair trailer mechanical and electrical systems, including brakes, tires, lighting, and suspension components.Conduct preventative maintenance and ensure all systems meet DOT standards.
Replace and repair parts such as brakes, drums, hubs, seals, bearings, axles, and subframes.
Address electrical issues by troubleshooting and repairing wiring, ABS systems, and marker/taillights.
Maintain and repair trailer components, including flooring, doors, mud flaps, and chassis assemblies.
Test trailers before and after repairs to ensure functionality and safety.
Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and lubrication.
Handle reefer and heater maintenance, such as PMs and battery checks.
Conduct regular safety inspections on trailers and related equipment.
Communicate repair needs and updates to drivers, addressing concerns and providing solutions.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts inventory.
Ensure a clean and safe work area while adhering to all safety protocols.
Preferred Skills: Current Class B or Class A (preferred)
Experience repairing flatbed, towable, intermodal, and OTR trailers.Knowledge of ABS systems, liftgates, landing gear, and composite flooring repairs.
Ability to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and proactively address equipment failures.
Strong communication skills to provide updates and handle customer concerns effectively.
