Description:

Responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of data-centric projects within the organization. This role will ensure that data-related initiatives are completed on time, within scope, and within budget, while collaborating with various departments and stakeholders.

The Data Project Manager will work closely with data analysts, engineers, and business leaders to ensure the integrity, security, and effectiveness of the organization’s data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans that outline scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resources needed for data projects.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand data requirements and expectations, and manage communications throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Execution & Monitoring: Lead the execution of data projects, ensuring that deliverables meet business objectives and align with strategic priorities.
  • Team Leadership: Coordinate cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and analysts, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with data quality, privacy, security, and compliance during project implementation.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Oversee project budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and projects are delivered within financial constraints.
  • Reporting: Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, key metrics, and any roadblocks, providing clear, data-driven insights to support decision-making.
  • Post-Project Evaluation: Conduct post-project evaluations and report on lessons learned to enhance future project management strategies.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure all data projects comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including GDPR, HIPAA, etc.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience:
  • 5+ years of project management experience, with a focus on data or IT-related projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale data projects, including data integration, migration, analytics, or business intelligence projects.
  • Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or related project management certifications preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of data management practices, including data warehousing, ETL processes, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience working with databases (SQL, NoSQL) and data architecture principles.
  • Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana).
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in [Industry-specific experience, e.g., healthcare, finance, etc.].
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, etc.
  • Previous experience with agile methodologies.
