Senior Database Administrator

Summary:

• Senior MYSQL DBA with a minimum of 6 or more years of excellent hands-on experience to support MYSQL databases along with experience on on-premise and Cloud (OCI and AWS) 11gRel2 and 12c Standalone and RAC/Exadata Oracle Databases, Oracle Goldengate and Data streaming technologies/tools (like KAFKA).
• Postgres, MongoDB and Cassandra experience is desired

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related fields Technical

Skills and Responsibilities required:

• Ability to Support Production (24X7) systems and non-prod systems
• Ability to work in challenging production support environment
• Ability to attend calls during off-hours
• Ability to provide weekly on-call support
• Migration experience among multiple versions of MYSQL databases
• Hands on experience in setting up replication
• Hands on experience on replication tuning
• Hands on experience in Requirement Analysis, Architecture Design and hardware planning of MySQL database
• Hands on experience in Installation, Configuration, and upgrade of MySQL databases
• Experience in high availability and disaster recovery solutions
• Experience in various backup technologies for MYSQL
• Experience in Percona Cluster
• Experience in performance tuning and load balancing
• Hands on experience in setting up MySQL databases in standalone as well as clustered environment
• Experience in implementing security solutions to MYSQL environment
• Able to prepare documentation for team members to understand
• Able to work in a team environment under a tight deadline
• Hands on experience in supporting Oracle database
• Hands on experience of setting up Oracle Data Guard and Goldengate Replication
• Ability to provide technical support to application development teams, Application DB release changes, Backout process
• Experience with Physical Database design
• Ability to understand Application architecture
• Pro-active and Reactive monitoring, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) (Synthetic Monitoring)
• Hands on experience in Scripting (Shell, PL/SQL, Python)
• Good understanding of ITIL (Release Management, Change Management, Crisis Management, etc)
• Strong Linux/Unix skills
• Good understanding of DevOps, DB release automation for DevOps
• AWS/MYSQL/Oracle certification
• Terraform, Jenkins, Sourcetree, YAML
• Experience with cloud automation
• Very Good communication skills
• MongoDB, PostgreSQL and Cassandra experience is a plus
