We currently have an exciting career opportunity as a Maintenance Technician! This role is based at our facility in Winchester, Tennessee, and reports to the Maintenance Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling and maintaining equipment to ensure the machinery is meeting production and quality expectations.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated individual to perform preventative maintenance, trouble-shoot equipment related issues, and ensure controls are maintained at high quality. This includes being knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures associated with the industry and company standards.

Principal

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to motors, pumps electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Start up and troubleshoot of the process related issues with production equipment, tooling, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Fabricate, build, clean, and repair machinery as required.
  • Collaborate and assist with production material trials and new products.
  • Monitor and maintain output and run conditions to specified standards.
  • Regularly inspecting, cleaning and performing preventative maintenance on machinery to keep in quality working order.
  • Using hand tools such as, but not limited to, power tools and rigging equipment.
  • Operation of heavy industrial equipment, including but not limited to, saws, pullers, balers, forklifts, and bucket lifts.
  • Complete proper documentation and quality requirements.
  • Build a comprehensive knowledge of the operation, safety features, and process steps.
  • Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of failures or future issues.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Must be eager to learn, excited to work on a team, and have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Other duties as the need arises and/or assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2-4 years experience as a Maintenance Technician
  • Previous experience with extruders and powered industrial vehicles preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend sophisticated instructions, correspondence, and reports.

Working conditions
  • The person in this role spends almost 100% of their time in the plant environment, which may involve varying degrees of light to moderate physical labor.
  • Requires good mobility and involves considerable lifting (at least 50 lbs.), pulling, bending, standing and walking for extended periods of time (including 12-hour shifts)
  • Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, and the use of sharp blades for cutting rubber; however, incumbent will use standard personal protective equipment such as, but not limited to, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and aprons.
  • Incumbent understands, respects and adheres to the workplace Health & Safety rules & regulations which are derived from the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
