Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Procurement Agent to manage the procurement of raw materials, equipment, and supplies necessary for cement plant operations. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, supplier management experience, and an in-depth understanding of procurement best practices within the cement or manufacturing industry.This role is crucial in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of quality materials to support plant operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the procurement of cement, raw materials, equipment, and operational supplies in alignment with plant requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure cost-effective and high-quality materials.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships to ensure continuous and reliable supply.
- Track and analyze market trends, material costs, and supplier capabilities to inform purchasing strategies.
- Work closely with operations, finance, and inventory management teams to ensure materials meet production needs.
- Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures that align with company objectives and industry standards.
- Ensure all purchases comply with company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier agreements.
- Assist in resolving any supply chain issues, delays, or discrepancies with vendors.
- Evaluate opportunities for cost savings, supplier diversification, and process improvement in procurement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in the cement, construction materials, or heavy manufacturing industry.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Strong proficiency in SAP (S/4HANA, SAP MM), DataStream, and other ERP platforms.
- Experience with business intelligence reporting tools (Tableau, DOMO, SAP BW/BI) preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Knowledge of industry regulations, compliance standards, and supplier sourcing strategies.
