Executive Director
The Executive Director is a senior level role responsible for the leadership and operations of
all services, financial operations, and overall health of their assigned locations and/or regions.
The Executive Director is responsible for implementing identified business strategies and
growing Vista Care’s presence in the state through active involvement in provider
associations. The Executive Director works closely and collaboratively with divisional
leadership and other operations leaders to oversee operational excellence, and drive
execution of care and service in accordance with Vista Care’s mission, vision, and values as
well as in line with all regulatory standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership, supervision, and management for local leaders and other staff
ensuring the highest levels of quality care and support are provided in alignment with
Vista Care’s BEST CARE values.- Ensures the letter and spirit of Vista Care’s mission and BEST CARE values are fully
operationalized. Supports regular discussion of the mission and values through
inclusion in directives, policies, and other communications whether formal or informal.- Responsible for supporting an engaging and supportive organizational culture across
their assigned region for all. Supports an environment of inclusiveness, including
promoting a positive and welcoming environment for all individuals supported, staff,and guardians throughout the organization.
- Demonstrate expertise in relevant rules, regulations, and statutes as it relates to Vista
Care services offered in the region. Responsible for ongoing compliance, identification
of potential regulatory changes that may affect Vista Care operations, and advocacy
for rule changes that positively advance Vista Care’s mission.- Fully responsible for the management of services including budgeting, planning,

- Works with leadership, guardians, funders to ensure their satisfaction with Vista Care’s
services and to promote the highest quality care while minimizing the risk of any
discharge.- Ensures that all programs as assigned and/or delegated to follow all applicable
licensure, certification, and contractual standards, as well as all federal, state, and
local laws including collaborative facilitation of accreditation processes.- Monitors the quality and appropriateness of support and services provided by your
training, and evaluation in partnership with other organizational leaders.
- Actively participates in activities regarding quality and performance improvement in

actively problem solves, makes decisions and recommendations for resolution based
on Vista Care Mission, Vision, and Values, and all licensing agreements.- Actively participates and leads employee engagement and retention activities and
- Leads and develops all direct reports as well as participating in the development of
direct care staff including the completion of annual performance reviews, provides
regular routine coaching, evaluations, mentoring, corrective action, approval of time
etc.- Facilitate cooperative relationships of service providers across all Illinois counties
- Provide leadership and engage in activities to increase public awareness VCIL
- Develop cooperative relationships outside the organization with families, advocacy
groups, physicians, public officials, or other involved agencies to provide for the
development of services across the state.- Share information on VCIL philosophy, procedures, policies, and services in order to
help prospective clients and interested citizens to better understand the functions of
the agency.- May be required at times to provide direct care.

Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- At least five (5) to seven (7) years’ previous experience in residential and/or day
services and support with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
(I/DD) preferred- Three (3) years to seven (7) years senior-level leadership experience with significant
management experience in multisite operations including mentorship, management
and supervision of others required.- Demonstrated experience in successfully partnering with payer sources and state
- Responsiveness to the concerns of individuals supported, guardians, and all Vista
- Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to supervise and manage others while ensuring the best possible care and
- Maintains a high degree of professionalism, including maintaining professional
- Demonstrated record of goal achievement and of successfully taking on increased
- Ability to function well in a high-paced, stressful environment.
- Ability to communicate professionally across all departments.

- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Successful completion of a caregiver background check and required.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- A college, or university degree or the equivalent is required. Social services or similar
fields preferred. However, five (5) or more years of relevant experience will be
considered in lieu of a degree.- QIDP certification required. QIDP Trainer certification preferred.
- Completion of all Illinois DSP registry requirements within 60 days of hire.
- Ability to successfully complete all federal, state, and local requirements.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift at least fifty (50) pounds on a routine basis to assist with individuals
- Ability to bend, twist, lift, reach and assist individuals supported with their movements
- Variable weekly hours to support operational needs including evenings, nights,
- Required to work in residential settings, day services settings, and/or community-
- Successful applicant(s) will be required to travel to the various programs as assigned
under the direction of Vista Care leadership.
