Sr Systems Engineer

THE POSITION
Sr Systems Engineer, Continental Automotive Systems, Inc., Auburn Hills, MI:
Design, develop, specify, and document the system or product architecture (including software, product use cases, functional decomposition and component decomposition) for the electronic brake module. Review customer specific requirements and derive solutions using established architectural components, new variants of the components or create new components if needed.Decompose product architecture/product requirements to product functions and assigns physical components as well as discipline components (e.g., SW) in cooperation with involved disciplines. Moderate the design process in cooperation with all involved disciplines: Coordinate the assigned technical experts from HW, SW, or test.
Clarify issues with implementation that occur during the development process (signals used, interfaces to other functions). Initiate, perform and document reviews for system/product architecture. Support base/product development team with defining new products for the global roadmap.
Develop and support new processes for system architecture workflows.
Telecommuting permitted up to 50% per week.
Full time employment, Monday Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, plus 2 years of related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in all of the following:
Developing Automotive Electronics, Automotive Software or Automotive Systems; Developing Electronic Brakes; Using requirements engineering tools, including Doors, MKS Requirements Manager, Helix, Polarion, Codebeamer or PTC, as a repository for stakeholder and internal product development requirements; Using Architecture tools, including Enterprise Architect, Rational Rhapsody, Archi, Sparx or Lucidscale, to interface to requirements systems; Using issue and task management tools to coordinate system-level activities, including MKS, Engineering Workflow Manager (EWM) or Jira; Using variant management tools, including Pure Variants, to create project specific views from generic/base development architecture to fit customer programs; and
Performing project planning activities for systems engineering projects, including architecture definition, feature timing, requirement analysis, requirement definition and traceability between work products.
Telecommuting permitted up to 50% per week.
International travel required up to 10%.
