Production Operator

This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the slag and bauxite grinding facility. This will include heavy equipment usage, production line operation, quality control procedures and finish product truck loadout.
Responsibilities:
- Operate loader and forklift
- Perform quality control testing on samples
- Understand and operate truck loading systems
- Set-up and adjust equipment
- Monitor equipment and systems to ensure quality, efficiency and safety
- Perform basic maintenance of equipment
- Diagnose problems and determine solutions that are within skillset
- Learn, follow, and promote all safety regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license required
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing/production or construction environment preferred
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance preferred
Work Environment & Conditions:
- This position requires a flexible work schedule: nights, weekends, holidays, and/or overtime
- Must be able to climb, maintain body equilibrium, reach, grasp, bend and walk/stand/sit for extended periods of time
- Must be able to hear and see naturally or with correction
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Be subject to loud noises
- Be subject to atmospheric conditions - one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odor, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
- This position requires working in the internal and external environment
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Must be accurate, efficient, and organized
- Ability to work under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment
