What You’ll Do
As the Database Developer you play a critical role in ensuring our teams have the right data in their hands to make decisions. To be successful in this role, you will have to:
- Successfully troubleshoot technical issues related to SQL server and connected technologies;
- Maintaining and implementing new data feeds between Ash and our partners;
- Support reporting requests both internally and externally with our customers;
- Assist in implementation of data warehouse project;
- Update database schema and core objects, such as stored procedures and views, to support enhancements to our business systems;
- Handle operational data requests received by the team;
- Offer ideas for improvement to the operations of the team or business operations based on requests received;
- Help complete technical activities related to onboarding new business relationships and acquisitions.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information System, or a related field, or equivalent experience;
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working on a database team or on database projects;
- Proven development experience with Microsoft SQL Server Database platform;
- Exposure to Azure Data Services or related cloud technologies;
- Ability to create and maintain database objects including but not limited to tables, views, indexes, user-defined functions, stored procedures, triggers, constraints, custom data types, etc.;
- Demonstrated understanding of database architectural concepts including but not limited to creating relational models, data segmentation/partitioning, implementing data security models, etc.;
- Prior experience with the following:
- Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services or similar enterprise reporting tool;
- Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services or similar ETL tool;
- Creation and/or management of data feeds utilizing both structured (ex XML/JSON) and flat schemas (ex CSV,TXT,XLSX) across a wide range of electronic delivery mechanisms (ex API/ASMX/SFTP)
- Database Administration concepts including database backup/restore, SQL Agent job creation/maintenance, managing security roles and permissions etc.
- Data Migration experience between applications or systems is a plus
- Database performance optimizations including index tuning, execution plan analysis and troubleshooting
- Data warehouse implementations
